Just a quick little episode this week - Mike and Jemma from Pinbone take Levins to Centennial Park and force him to eat a bunch of possibly edible grass and weeds they forage from the ground. Before Levins risks his life for the sake of entertainment, we give a small update of recent restaurant openings and cool events coming up soon.

Look out for us roaming around Rootstock this weekend with microphones! We'll be recording a live episode there which will be up next week. Check out our Facebook page (facebook.com/themitchen) for video evidence of Levins eating weeds over the weekend too.

Live from their holiday in Tokyo, Levins and his wife Bianca Levins (ex The Dip) discuss the fun of eating their way through Japan with a toddler and the best places to eat ramen, burgers and katsu. Later Levins tracks down Merivale chef Patrick Friesen in an Ebisu bar and the two get drunk while comparing Tokyo food adventures.

Last week he was in Paris, this week Levins is in Tokyo. During the 4 days between those trips, Levins got Kerby Craig from Ume Restaurant in Surry Hills to come recommend his favourite places to eat in Tokyo. Mitch and Mike pitch in a few of their best Tokyo stories as well. Plus Mike does the best intro to The Mitchen ever!

So it's come to this: another wine episode! Less than a month before Rootstock, we invited its founders Mike Bennie and Giorgio De Maria to come let us know more about the massive program, including insight into the importance of having a strong Indigenous presence at the festival. We also talk compare the natural wine scenes of France and Italy and Levins brags about his luck with wine during his recent trip to Paris. Most importantly, Mike Bennie gives his tips for enjoying natural wine on the nudist beaches of Europe.
