A brand new episode all about BBQ! Ahead of The Sydney Barbecue Festival this weekend, we invited Alabama pitmaster Chris Lilly (Big Bob Gibson's Bar-B-Q) to come tell us everything he knows about that slow smoked good stuff. Also joining us is singer Joyride (performer of many hit songs including The Mitchen theme!), who is teaming up with Levins to judge a BBQ contest at the festival this weekend. Smoke it up.
We celebrate our 20th episode by letting Mike take over as host, leading a long conversation about tea and coffee with some of Sydney's experts: tea distributor Arthur Tong from Tea Craft, Dan Yee, owner of Artificer Coffee Bar & Roastery and Daniel Jackson from Edition Coffee Roasters.
Together we discuss what allured our guests to the world of coffee and tea, the nerdier side of coffee lovers, cooking with teas and coffee beans and some cool newer methods that we weren't completely familiar with. Pour yourself a cuppa, tune in and feel deep disappointment with your cuppa as you hear about all far superior hot drinks our guests are the masters of.
We're back at The Mitchen table after a short break and have filled every seat with a diverse lineup of guests! Joining Levins, Mitch and Mike is American chef Ryan Harris from The Proper Sandwich in Napa Valley, plus two Australians now living in America: winemaker Erin Pooley, behind Napa Valley's Wei Chi Wines and Emily Levins, who's been working in the New York restaurant scene over the last three years. We're also joined by the C in ACME: 2015 winner of the Citi Service Excellence award Cam Fairbairn.
We talk about the Napa Valley restaurant and wine scene, that recent damning review of Per Se in New York, eating ham over Christmas, Australian food that's missed the most while living overseas AND we debut a brand new regular segment that's too hot for iTunes!
